When it comes to niche marketing, most of the ebooks will tell how to find the so-called *HOT* niches and how to make money selling affiliate products. What nobody tells (to my sheer amazement) is about the pre-requisites you need before you build a business around a niche. Last week, I noted down three things that I am going to do when marketing in niches. Let me share them with you. I hope that at least a few of my subscribers would find it helpful.
I am sure this post will ruffle a few feathers. But if I don't speak up, people will continue to mislead newbies, who in turn will go on making the same mistakes I once did, and there would be no respite from this vicious cycle. I am not against finding new niches. What irks me though is the superfluous importance people give to *niche competition*. So before you start niche marketing, here are a few points I would like to make on *niche competition*, and what it means for you.
You might have been taught repeatedly about how to "research" your niche with the help of keywords tools. Well, just think about it: if keyword tools were meant to research a niche, why didn't the developers of the software call it a 'Niche' tool, instead of a 'Keyword Research' Tool? The reason is that a keyword tool does what it is supposed to do, that is, get keywords for your term. It DOES NOT research the niche for you. This week I came up with my own niche research formula that would put all other formulas to shame (by the way, my Nuttiebums report tells about some of my other unconventional methods of niche research).
